Looking To The Future
The events of the last two weeks have shocked, saddened and devastated a nation. The force of Katrina took the world by surprise and horrified those in it’s deadly path; she was not
forgiving. Despite the destruction, families have survived and struggle daily to look ahead to the future. It is easy for those of us who witnessed Katrina’s wrath from the comfort of our own homes to tell her victims that they need to look forward but hopefully,
prayers and words of encouragement can help in the darkest of days.
For those who have survived, a long road lies ahead. But be assured that you have a second chance to live and to love. For those who lost their livelihoods but have their families, be
grateful for the chance to rebuild with your loved ones by your side. Material possessions can be replaced but lives cannot. Businesses that once thrived can thrive again. Buildings can be rebuilt; the loss of live cannot be replaced.
For those who cannot find family members, keep hoping for a miracle until you know for sure. This hurricane has seen many miracles and yours could be next. Keep praying not only for
yourself but for others as well. I am praying for you as is the rest of the world.
And for those who know for sure that their loved ones have passed, hold their memory close to your heart. When days seem dark, sit still and let them guide you and give you the strength
to push forward. Always hold them close and live the rest of your days making them proud. They will always be with you.
Katrina has proven that nature is a force to be reckoned with. But humanity is an even greater force and the power of human spirit and determination is much stronger. Keep hope for the
future and make your second chance the best that you can. And to those who did not lose anything to Katrina, let this be a lesson to appreciate your life and those in it. Give thanks for each day and God Bless...

and 12 Concepts for World Service, but not limited to only AA-sanctioned material (such as The Holy Bible, The Koran, The Upanishads, etc.). Recovery Times is not affiliated nor approved with or by any 12 Step organizations.
Recovery Times publishes only each author's opinions or positions on all matters, and doesn't necessarily agree or disagree with anyone on anything. Our Principles and Protocols are expressed beautifully in
