Hey
out there, Are you selling yourself short? Are you
living in such a way that you are not receiving all the
blessings God has to offer? I'm not talking about
money, Egads. Don't even go there! I am talking about
Pure Joy and Serenity. The kind that only comes from
God and nowhere else. We can all cash in on those
blessings if we will just follow some simple
instructions. Here they are...
1. Love the Lord your
God with all your heart, strength and might.
2. Love your neighbor
as yourself.
Sound too simple? Well
of course it does, because we like to complicate
everything God asks us to do. Come on folks. Any one
can make a religion but did you know that Jesus was the
only Spiritual leader that rose from the dead. No one
else did. So why would we want to follow anyone else.
The fact is Jesus
resurrected you and I from the dead too. We were full
of ourselves in our addiction; we were dying inside and
out. We had to die to ourselves in order to rise again.
Once we turned our will and our lives over to God He was
able to resurrect us.
Now why in the world
after being raised from the dead would any of us want to
sell ourselves short and not cash in on everything God
has for us through His Son Jesus.
OK, so there are many
other spiritual beliefs in the world today. Have you
really studied them? I mean really searched them out for
the bottom line. None of them come even close to what
Jesus has to offer for free. It's kind of like shopping
for some produce at the store.
Over there is a bunch
of grapes, the look pretty good, and next to them is a
case of peaches, they look nice
too, and oh
there are the tomatoes, how red they look. But when you
look closer they aren't
all they are cracked up
to be. They have been sitting around just a little to
long and promise a good look but as far as nourishment
goes, they lost that a long time ago. But what is this
over here? Ah, a bunch of fresh produce that just came
in. Which produce should I purchase? What a silly
question isn't it? In fact you would never even ask
yourself that question, instead you would buy the fresh
goods.
So why would we want to
turn our lives over to a prophet, teacher, or a
spiritual leader that has died and been lying in a grave
for thousands of years. Why would we want to sell
ourselves short?
I say, CASH IN; grab on
to God, the living God. Settle for nothing less. As
addicts we often think that more is better, why then
would we settle for less in a Higher Power.
So Love God with all
your might, and He will give you the ability to love
everyone else as God has loved you. Then and only then
will you really cash in.

Today I will seek out the truth about my old way of
thinking. If I am honest, open-minded and willing I
will find that I may have been wrong in some vital areas
concerning my Higher Power. I will ask Him to open my
eyes and heart to the truth of who He is and His great
love that comes with no conditions except to simply say
yes to Him.
